Vacation??

With all the work I have looming for 4-H, the National convention is starting to look like a vacation! I won't have any time to write next week until Friday, so you most likely will not be seeing any new posts for a while. I just hope my e-mail box doesn't get over loaded!

I'm not sure why I was crazy enough to think I could slip this trip to Nationals in when I am in the throes of my busiest time at work. Just plain insane I guess! Or desperate - desperate to get my writing somewhere other than in my computer. My time has come and I'm getting tired of waiting! It may kill me, but I am going to push myself to talk to every person who is within an arm's length of me. I usually cocoon up in crowds, but my goal is to talk. And make connections. I've been reading all of Roxi's suggestions from the PRO loop and I will be one of the writers the editors remember! Yeah right! Mousey me will really knock their socks off! Well I will at least give it a try. I will not go one more year without having either an agent or a contract! It's too damn depressing otherwise!

Off to work on my sensual, heart-tugging paranormal about star-crossed lovers!

Paty you are so funny! You're NOT mousy! I am going to beat both you and Eli with a wet noodle if you don't stop being negative about yourselves. (I'm the only one allowed to be negative! LOL)

You will be great at National and you will make a wonderful impression on everyone you meet. You're a very likeable, warm, good person and that makes people connect with you immediately. Stop worrying and relax. This is it! It's your turn!

Now breathe and get back to writing!

We'll come out of our shells together, Paty. I know I tend to be outgoing and obnoxious at times (who, me????), but in a new situation (like Nationals...eeek!) I'm generally quiet.

And wasn't that PRO-class great? A wealth of info. And now I'm gnawing on my fingernails...

I loved the PRO class too. I copied almost everything Roxie said and put it in my national's folder. Though I don't think I'll go as far as making a binder. That's too organized for me ( and too much work I don't need right now) I'll read stuff on the plane down and get squared away when I get there.
