I'm Back!

My husband and I returned last night from a week in Anchorage, Alaska visiting our son and his two children. It was an experience! We woke up to ice one day and snow a couple of other mornings. Though the weather was in the 20's it didn't feel that cold to us. In fact his house was too warm.

We spent time with the grandkids and took a walk nearly everyday. One day as we were driving around the city, I spotted what looked like a bronze statue of a moose. Only as we drove alongside, I squeaked, "It moved!" Sure enough it was a bull moose eating the leaves from a tree in the front of a school! The poor thing was missing one antler and limped. There was a public park near the school that didn't look like a park to me, but our son said the moose probably stays in the park. It was an area so full of trees you couldn't see more than ten feet inside of it.

One day, we drove to Denali Park.It was a four hour trip one way. We'd heard a lot about the area, but in the end we both thought the Tetons are more appealing sight. Above is a picture of Mt. McKinley. According to the information at the view point we were lucky to see all of it. Most of the time the top is covered in clouds.

I didn't get any writing done while I was gone, but I am roaring and ready to get this third Petticoat book done and the second one in the final process for publication.

I'm sorry if you've come to this sight looking for new posts while I was gone. I didn't have access to the internet. Hope you are all doing well.

Hey Paty! Welcome back!

Sounds like you had a good break while you were in Alaska. Beautiful picture, btw.

Love your moose story!

I'm surprised that you didn't lose your mind being without the internet that long. I'd go crazy! LOL

Glad you're back!!!

Wow, I'm jealous. I've always wanted to see a moose. Glad you got to see one, anyway!

Happy back home to you. We missed you.

The mountain photo is nice. I'd like to go to Alaska one of these years soon with my camera.

It's funny, Piper, but I never really missed the internet this trip. I don't know if it was because I knew heading up there I wouldn't have access or just I needed a break. Of course I came home to over a 100 e-mails! And I did no mail on most of my yahoo accounts! I only left the chapter one, and the board ones on. Oh, I guess I should turn them on.... Maybe not!

Danita, you would love Alaska for picture taking! They have some great things to capture on camera. After the moose incident I didn't leave my camera behind when we went out! I wish I'd had it with me then.
