Redneck Lawn Ornaments

Well, last winter I had calves invading my flower beds and lawn; this fall I have deer. LOL

My dh leaves this Friday to go elk hunting to say I'm excited is an understatement! LOL I'm looking forward to days and nights where I can write uninterrupted except to feed myself and check the animals. But I'll also have to clean house and start making the goodies for Thanksgiving since we'll have twelve people here for turkey day. But still, I can do what I want when I want. It's a heady feeling, believe me!

This week, I'm hoping to crank out the words, I really wanted this project ready to send to agents by now and it's taking me too long. Part of the problem is I need to hold back some information because my plan is to make this the first book of a series, and there is an ongoing mystery that will lace through all the books that needs to not be figured out now. So to keep that element a secret, yet drop one maybe two little herrings or glimmers of truth, is hard! Not sure why I decided to do this, but I'm in it for the long haul and will make it work.

If you want to read more by me today, I'm blogging at http://annakathrynlanier.blogspot.com/ about how my live has shaped my writing. Hop on over and leave a comment. Both myself and Anna are giving away goodies to select commenters.

I totally understand what you mean when the dh goes out of town. Mine was in Boston the first week in NaNo, and that's a big reason I was able to make my 25K goal. We love them, but those husbands do take time!

Love your lawn ornaments! I have some that look just like that!

And I know what you mean, my DH was gone two weeks ago for a long weekend deer hunting, and is leaving again this weekend! Love him, but love the time alone!

LOL here in the Northeast we refer to those as "hood ornaments", since far too often that's exactly where they end up!

Enjoy the time without the dh!

Heading over to Anna Kathryn's blog to check things out...
