Friday Faves

My friend, Lindy Jacobs, and I attended the Nature of Words readings last night at the Tower Theater in Bend. The authors were: Author and poet, Jimmy Santiago Baca;author, Kent Haruf; poet, Brian Turner; and author, Anne Lamont. The readings were exceptional and the deliveries and banter were fun and in the case of Brian who writes poems about military life in Afghanistan and after it was enlightening.

I'm headed to Portland today to bunk with Jessa Slade then we're heading to Bellevue, WA with Delilah Marvelle and Jenna Bayley-Burke for a book signing on Saturday at the University Book Store from 1-3 pm.

I sent off proposals this week to the two agents who requested.I'm incorporating the wonderful information my Guatemalan contact Cynthia gave me into the manuscript.

Next week I'll start writing a couple of short stories and start researching for the last spirit book.

Good news this week. After thinking I would have a full house at Christmas, I learned no one would be here and now our daughter from Alaska and her family will be here at Thanksgiving and up till Christmas Eve. So, I can haul out the decorations and have a blast decorating for and with grandkids!

How are your holidays looking?

I'm going to a workshop tomorrow morning.

I need to put Halloween away. I wonder - are we packing? So, I feel a little paralyzed. Siigh. I'm hoping for that 11th hour miracle by New Year. Do you hear me, Santa?

Woot on your writing progress.

Have fun tomorrow Mary. I'll ask Santa for a miracle for you.

Sounds like a great weekend! Hope it was a blast!

I have a brother driving up from Nebraska for Thanksgiving, and the kids all live close by, so we'll all be together for the holidays, which is an amazing blessing.
