The end of 2010

I remember in Junior High we held a play that was about the year 2000. In it there were cars flying in the air like the Jetsons and people talking to one another like we do with skype. In some ways this world has fulfilled those youthful dreams but in others we are still striving to fly through the air and live on other planets.

This past year brought new people into my life. People I met through writing, either as writers or readers and I'm happy to be able to call them friends.

While 2010 aged me another year, it also injected me with a bit more wisdom I like to think and hopefully more patience. When I began writing over a decade ago I couldn't wait to send my work to editors. Many times I sent things too soon. Now it's the other way around. I hang onto things primping and pruning, making it shine. Age has given me the patience to make sure the story sparkles before I send it out. I've also learned to listen to my critique partners and editors with an open mind.

With the new year I'd like to revamp my blog. What would you as my followers like to see on this blog? More about my books and research? Less about my books and research? More about my life outside writing? More about other authors/writers? The industry? Let me know and I'll work at bringing you what you want to see.

I wish you all a wonderful 2011!
