Autumn's Harvest Blog Hop

Autumn is one of my favorite seasons for a multitude of reasons.

The first reason I like Autumn has to do with the colors. The rich browns and reds and vibrant yellows and oranges of the leaves changing colors. Even the dying grasses turning pale green and tan make a wonderful contrast to the bright bushes and falling leaves.

The crisp air making my nose cold and giving me a reason to wear my snugly sweatshirts is another reason Autumn is one of my favorite seasons. Along with the crisp air come the nose tingling aromas of fermenting apples and burning firewood.

The crisp days and cold nights along with wind, rain, and some snow make perfect ambiance for writing and reading. This Fall I'm working on the second book of my Isabella Mumphrey action adventure series. The first book came out in August. Secrets of a Mayan Moon. The book is set in the Guatemalan jungle so there wasn't a chance to use any "Autumn ambiance" in the book. But it is a steamy jungle read that could warm the cool Autumn nights and days.

Blurb:

Child prodigy and now Doctor of Anthropology, Isabella Mumphrey, is about to lose her job at the university. In the world of publish or perish, her mentor’s request for her assistance on a dig is just the opportunity she’s been seeking. If she can decipher an ancient stone table—and she can—she’ll keep her department. She heads to Guatemala, but drug trafficking bad guys, artifact thieves, and her infatuation for her handsome guide wreak havoc on her scholarly intentions.

DEA agent Tino Kosta, is out to avenge the deaths of his family. He’s deep undercover as a jaguar tracker and sometimes jungle guide, but the appearance of a beautiful, brainy anthropologist heats his Latin blood taking him on a dangerous detour that could leave them both casualties of the jungle.

Secrets of a Mayan Moon is available at Kindle, Nook, and Smashwords

I would have entered everyone but already discouraged - most are ebooks. I don't do ebooks. I read print books, review them, and share them.

It’s hard to say what exactly would be my Go-To Autumn Romance book. When I think real hard about it, I would have to say it has a sexy, strong, determined male that when it comes to love is just lost. Then there has to be a woman who is usually in need of help or needs to know what love and family is. Together they heal each other and love turns out to be their greatest gift. I also love a happy ending at this time of year, usually where the epilogue has them starting their own family to love and cherish. Oh….and definitely HOT loving too!

I find the Mayan culture fascinating and have several texts on the subject. What drew you to it?

Paty Jager said...

Hi Laurie. Glad you stopped in.

Hi Roxy, We briefly studied the Central and South American natives in school and when I decided to write an action adventure book and set it in Central America with an anthropologist as the heroine I thought it would be a good way to learn more about the Maya.

I love everything about Fall--the sights, sounds, smells, tastes, and touch (of the cool air). I especially love that the tourists are gone from my area, the lovely deserted beaches, and "sweater weather." I am the queen of sweater twin sets!

My favorite thing about Autumn/Fall is the changing color of the leaves, orange, yellow, red, even purple. They are so pretty. My least favorite thing is raking up those pretty leaves. LOL I love to curl up by the fire and read a hot romance book on a cold fall evening. Thanks for being part of the hop and for the chance to win. <^_^>
