I'm a finalist!!

Wow! I had a great call today. I have been selected as a finalist in the "Great Beginnings" RWA contest. Which means the first three pages of my newest WIP is being sent to an agent to read and decide who the top three finalists are. It puts my work in front of a judge and she knows it was liked by the judges before her! Very exciting!

I have the people who attended the Story Magic Weekend to thank for this. They helped me see the Goal, motivation and conflict in my story, and I was able to set it right out front. I think that's why it placed so well. Now to keep my fingers crossed the agent will want to see more and I can get it all whipped into shape and long enough by the time she asks for it!

Not to put any pressure on myself, but I also sent a query out to an agent at Avon with an Avon author giving me the go-ahed to use her name as someone who recommended I contact this editor! It would really do me justice if I have to get both of these whipped into shape at the same time! But I would love every stressful minute of it.

I'm not getting too excited, I've had my bubble burst enough times, but I know my time is coming!

Floating on cloud 9 tonight and hopefully all the way through this and many more books!

Way to go, Paty! Wahoo! I'm super thrilled for you on your final. Fabulous job. We drink to you tomorrow night!

And I sent this on the loop, but you may not have seen it yet. PSP is your final round judge. She currently has a full of my manuscript, Marina's Bane. Haven't heard back from her yet (she just got it last week), but I've heard great things about her. I'm sure she'll LOVE your book!

This is just so exciting Paty!

I have to say if she has any taste at all she will pick both you and Eli up.

It's going to be so much fun to have my very own signed copies of your and Eli's books. And of course I will have to buy extras to give to my sister, mom, aunts and gramma, oh yeah, and my cousins! I wish the books could be out by Christmas! What great gifts! Oh hurry! :)
