Excited, yet hesitant

Everyone's excitement for my new position and getting a book published has made my little heart expand twice-fold. I'm ecstatic about being an Associate Editor and being able to find good books and give writers like myself the chance to get published and to help those who aren't quite ready.

However, getting my book published seems too easy. All I have to do is make it shine, and send it to my CP and good friend and it's published. In a way that doesn't seem fair to others who are dying to get published and on the other hand, I've been trying to break in for a long time and would rather have my book published than someone who just finished their first one! Is that a bad attitude? I've worked hard to get published and starting small is better than not starting at all and who knows, maybe the buzz my book gets from WRP will open the eyes of other houses.

I will have to do my own promotion, which will be something new for me. I'm hoping to pull in the aid of a good friend, but she's started a full time job and may not have the time to help. We'll see.

So- I am excited to finally get published and with a book I love. I've been polishing and find myself just as enamored with the characters as I was when I first wrote it and the writing isn't all that bad. I figured there would be a lot of rewriting, but so far, (fingers crossed) it isn't too bad!

Just ride the feel good train Paty and don't feel guilty!

You've been writing a long time and you deserve to be ecstatic over this opportunity. Like Eli, I'm totally thrilled for you too. And The Wild Rose Press is such a nice website. You should feel proud that you're a part of it and just let it flow.

Have FUN!!!
