Friday Faves

Yes, I changed the Friday Five to Friday Faves, I was getting tired of coming up with five things. And yes I'm late. They had our RWA chapter meeting last night and I had the 3 hour drive there and then back putting me home after midnight and my darling hubby let me sleep in.

So today my Friday Faves are:

Bethany Cunningham for hand selling my books to a person she met. Something I myself have a very hard time doing. I love the fact that Bethany is a voracious reader who dissects books and knows why she does and doesn't like them and she likes mine! That is the best compliment for my writing.

Alexis Morgan, Pocket Book author spoke about "Setting Goals and Getting Ready to Write" at the meeting last night and I don't know if this is something she made up or a quote but it resonated with me. Goals are dreams with deadlines.

And this is a silly fave- but this week my hubby said something to me that warmed me to my core. And it's such a simple little thing, yet, after 30 years together I don't know if he is finally comfortable saying this kind of thing or what. But we were talking and I can't remember what about and I laughed. He said, "I love your laugh." I've laughed a lot during our marriage. We have a lot of fun together, but that's the first time he's said it. And so sincere, heartfelt. Then we started talking about my summer irrigation schedule. Hmmmm....

So what was a fave for you this week?

This has been a rough week. I've spent most of it still trying to shake the after effects of the "bug" we all had last week, plus my youngest has decided he hates school and is never going back (at all of six years old) so every morning has been a battle.

So I'm not sure I have any favorite moments from this week, other than waking this morning after a good night's sleep and feeling human again--or seeing my little one climb off the bus after school with a big smile on his face and announce "Mama! I had a good day today!" (this after I dragged him--literally--kicking and screaming into school this morning.

TGIF!!!

And what a sweet thing for your hubby to say!

That is so nice! My husband and I have been together for twenty-two years, married for nearly twenty, and I still swoon when he says something like that.

My fave this week? I finished my taxes!! I've been in tax hell for most of the week, but yesterday I completed them. Not so fave? We owe money...

Nic, Yeah, the week end on a good note!

Congrats on the taxes, Helen. Isn't it a bitter sweet thing to get them done but then to find out you owe money. We had that most years when we owned our own business.

My fave was my company. My oldest brother and his wife drove up from Nebraska for a visit. We had a great time!

Kudo's to the hand seller! That's wonderful. Love the dream/goals saying. Might have to copy that! And what can I say about your hubby except...AW--that is so sweet! Those men, they catch you off guard every once in awhile, don't they?

Have a great one!

Hi Paty! What a wonderful fav! Amazing how hubby's can surprise us sometimes, huh? I would say my favs were getting to Blg at Helen's Heroes and attending my RWA Chapter's meeting. Author Stacy Kane was there and we did a project on story-boarding. It was a lot of fun!

Lauri, Glad you enjoyed your brother's visit.

Sarah, Sounds like you had some pretty good faves this week too! I bet Stacy did a good presentation.
