Friday Faves-

I'm late! I attended the MWVRWA meeting in Salem last night and spent the night with a writer friend and didn't get home until this afternoon. So the post is late because I didn't write one up yesterday to post while I was gone. I know slacker.

The friend who I stayed with last night, Danita Cahill, had three stories and a photo come out in the Ultimate Bird Lover Book. These are short nonfiction stories about birds. I'm so excited she is doing so well with her non-fiction writing even though we met at an RWA meeting. She is also a contributor to Country magazines as well as fantastic photographer.

We've had sunshine a good part of this week which is wonderful!

I was rolling on the WIP earlier int he week then with all my running around at the end I kind of fizzled out on productiveness.

There has been a huge response to my promo blitz for Doctor in Petticoats. I'm getting pumped and nervous. I have to write a lot of blog topics that all work to tell a little about the book. I may have to sit down and make a list.

I'm thinking about sending some workshop proposals to the Emerald City Conference in October. I always enjoy that conference.

They must have made their migratory circle because the 20 head of deer who love my yard and flower beds are back. We were deer free for over a month, but "They're baaaack!" I have the deer berry land mines and nubbins for dried flowers to prove it.

Have a great weekend!

Sounds like a great way to start the weekend...staying at a friend's house! Congrats to her. You'll catch back up on the writing, do fine with the promo blitz! Congrats on that! I wish I was close enough to attend one of your live workshops! We have the deer, too! Jess feeds them all winter, so they never leave. :)

Thanks for mentioning "The Ultimate Bird Lovers" Paty and posting a photo of the cover. Very sweet of you. ; )And thanks for the congrats, Lauri.

My web address is www.danitacahill.com if anyone wants to pop over or get ahold of me. I'd love to answer questions about freelancing for any writers trying to break in.

It was fun to see you the other day, Paty. I always enjoy our long "writerly' talks and bouncing ideas off each other.

As for deer, I hear you -- grrrrrr, they've just about killed the apple trees I planted a couple years ago. Ate all the baby apples off too. We enjoy watching them, if they'd only stay in the woods behind the house and away from my garden....

My neighbor feeds the deer so we have them year round, too. Just the other day the hubby and I were in the garden store looking at the beautiful flowers and plants already in bloom and thinking... hmm... what do we want to feed the deer this summer? LOL. Seems no matter what I plant, they eat it. Sigh.
