Yes, it's my birthday and I'm happy to say, though my daughter-in-law thinks it's a shame, I'll be by myself in Princeton changing water. Now that might seem like a bummer to most people but to a writer- alone time- that is a gift! LOL
Tink is here with me so I'm not completely alone. And hubby was here yesterday. We stacked all the alfalfa hay that was baled, and set out all the irrigation pipes. It was along hot day in the sun. But I survived.
A pair of swallows built a nest on the side of the addition on the cabin. It was fun fun watching the nest progress. Andn ow it's fun watching the swallows. There is also a pair of birds, I'm not sure what they are trying to build a nest in the long arm of the backhoe. They were chirping and cussing out my hubby all day yesterday when he was driving the backhoe around picking up bales, and they were trying to add to their nest.
Don't forget the Blog Tour is still going!! I'm here LASR and here novelsisterhood today. I've been having a wonderful time visiting with the people who are stopping in and we have a four way tie at the moment for the people who have stopped in at the most blogs! I love a good competition!

Paty, happy birthday! I agree that sometimes some "me" time is a gift in itself! Hope you enjoy your day, and may the year bring a surfeit of blessings!
I feel your pain about hauling hay. We don't do Alfalfa anymore, just coastal but hauling is hauling. It's hot, dirty and at the end of the day all you want is food, shower and bed :) Happy Birthday :)
Thank you flchen1!
Hi Ann, I'm glad that's down. Now we have grass hay to do after the fourth at home. Thanks!
Happy Birthday! Love the photos of the swallows nest. We couldn't use our canoe one spring due to them. We hung it upside down under a shed and they loved it. Fiberglass, but they still built their nest. Take it easy today and sit and read a good book.
Happy birthday, gf, swallows, pipes, heat and all!
Enjoy your day!
Thanks Nancy, I didn't bring a book to read, I brought one to write. LOL
Hey Nic,Thanks! Mother Nature gave me fireworks as a present while I changed pipes tonight. LOL
Happy Birthday, Paty. My mother's birthday was also on June 28. I remember haying when I was a kid. The hay was loose stacked in the hay barn. The chickenhouse abutted the barn and my siblings and I loved to climb up on the chickenhouse roof and jump over into the hay.
Eunice, that sounds like a lot of fun!
