Friday Good News and introspection.

A writer/reader/reviewer I highly respect has given Spirit of the Mountain a Friday pick and 5/5 rating on her review site. Cloudy with a Chance of Books. Thank you Bethany, reading your review made me tear up.

This week went by fast. Getting home on Monday rather than Sunday from my conference didn't help. Then I plunged into another read through of the jungle book before sending it off to the agents who requested it. I'm hoping to slip back into the third spirit book today.

I've been contemplating several ways to go with a couple of books I have written but are "not hot" right now. So Sunday I'm headed to a meeting with other writers on the new craze "self-publishing". I have friends who say you have a reputation built already so you can do this, pushing me to put up as many books as I can before the self-publishing market is glutted, then there's the part of me that is still holding out for a large press to pick me up rather than tell me it's good but not what they want. I can't decide which would be more painful to keep being rejected by the large press or the work of putting my books out to the world on my own.

What do you think about self-published books and the e-book revolution? How do you learn about the books that are self-published?

I enjoyed doing the review! I'm making my mother and my best friend read the book next so that I have someone to talk to about it. :)

Congrats on the great review, and on the self-publishing. I really don't know where you find the time to accomplish all you do!
