One of those authors was Dorothy Gilman and her Mrs. Polifax books. I enjoyed the older character, the fact she was a member of the garden club and the CIA. The exotic settings were a great way to learn about other countries. And the mysteries were always interesting.

Ms. Gilman started writing children's stories and had fouteen published. The first one was published in 1949 and the last one in 1983. She also wrote 9 non-series adult mysteries and fourteen Mrs. Polifax mysteries.
If you have read a Dorothy Gilman book which one was it and/or what was your favorite of her books?
Mrs. Polifax and the Whirling Dervish was my favorite Mrs. Polifax book. I enjoyed the setting of Morocco and the plot.
