Cover Reveal!

I am so excited about the next Shandra Higheagle Mystery book and how great the cover looks that I have to show you. This is book 10 in the series. Yes, book ten! And my fans are still asking for more books. I have to pinch myself every day that I am finally writing the genre I love and my readers like it too!

Artful Murder is set in Warner, the county seat and where Detective Ryan Greer, Shandra's fiancee, lives. In book 9, Haunting Corpse, while sleuthing at Warner High School, Shandra suggested she was there because she was interested in volunteering to teach a pottery class in their Art Quad building. Well, this book finds her doing just that. And one of the teachers if found murdered behind the art building.

That's all I'm going to tell you for now, but it's full of injustice, mystery, and secrets.

Cover Reveal!

My talented cover artist and daughter sent me the cover for Savannah, the first book in the new Silver Dollar Saloon historical western romance series.  We went back and forth a bit with how the cover should look since this will be the  first in the series and we wanted the saloon on the cover.  I think we achieved what we set out to do. (authors if you need covers, covered by clkeerins is looking for more clients)

For those who aren't familiar with the upcoming series, the Silver Dollar Saloon is in Shady Gulch, Dakota Territory. This is a town along the Northern Pacific Railroad. It took me several days to populate the town. I have a nice mix of different nationalities as that area was populated with Scandinavians, Russians, Germans, and anyone looking to homestead. I've started the timeline of the series while area was still a territory and will continue it through the splitting into North and South Dakota.
 

As you can tell by the series title this is not following a family. I guess I should say a normal family. The women who work at the saloon and the two men who run it, Jules Mathieu, a creole, and Beau Gentry, along with the woman who runs the boarding house where the women stay, are like a large dysfunctional family.

This first book brings Beau's past to Shady Gulch. Savannah Gentry, a half-sister he didn't know he had arrives looking for him after their father dies.

Cover revive, Finishing up a series, #FREE audio book

The last two months have been chaotic to say the least! I've been gone or on the road for most of January and February. I'm trying to get out my Shandra Higheagle series in audio, The Halsey Brother Series had covers revived, and I'm trying to write the last book of the Letters of Fate series.

I'm currently working on the next and last Letters of Fate book. The reason it is the last, comes from a survey I conducted with my western readers. They say they would rather have a series that is connected by the community or family than a premise. So, Henri, will be my last Letters of Fate book, and ironically, it  has been my toughest LOF book to date. I started with a real couple that I took their combustible love for one another and infused that in my characters. This was fine, but the book I started was too sweet for their love. Then I intentionally picked what I thought was an obscure mission in Idaho, only after a third of the way into the book, discovered a load of information about the mission and had to rewrite the firs third of the book. This put me behind. So please bear with me as I get this book finished. 

What is the new series going to be about? Ladies of the Silver Dollar Saloon. I am stoked to write this series. No, they aren't prostitutes though one or two who straggle into the saloon for employment may have that in their background. As it sounds the stories will be written about the men each girl finds, loves, and marries. So the community and secondary characters from the landlady at the boarding house, the gossipy bitties on the street, the store owner, dressmaker, and others will be the same in all the books. Many of the girls will be around in the book before they find their true love. Even the handsome man who owns the saloon will find his one true love. It should be fun and I hope you all will find it so. 

And in the last few months I've had the covers to the Halsey Brothers series revived. After making Marshal in Petticoats an audio book, it had to have a new cover to conform to the cover policies. That made it look different than the other four. Now those books are all updated to the new look.
