Kudos to a dear friend

My first and dearest Critique Partner learned she finaled in the Emerald City Opener with one of her westerns! I am so pleased for her! She has been my guiding light and inspiration since the day she explained things to me on my first contest entry when the other judges just put lines through sentence after sentence and rewrote the whole thing.

When we met, she was pregnant with her first child. I've been with her through the birth of her first and second son. We've laughed and cried through our family's up and downs and cheered each other on with our writing. And all this with a whole continent between us. She slipped into contemporary and has a wonderful story nearly complete and now has this contest final to push her to make more time for herself and her writing.
