Down Time

Yesterday was spent as my dh's carpenter's assistant. The computer wasn't even turned on all day! At first I kept looking at it and wondering who might be trying to get a hold of me. But then as the day wore on, I forgot all about it and even read a research book in the evening rather than get on line. And wow! What a difference it made letting everything go for a day!

I actually woke up thinking about my WIP and setting a direction for where some scenes need to go. And I haven't even been working on the WIP. I've been doing last minute fixes on OIP so it can get published, reading as a judge for a contest, and editing. So it was a joy to wake up thinking about a project that is feeling like an awesome book. It's been a while since a story felt that fresh in my head. I'm thinking I need to give myself a break from the computer more often.

How about you? Is there something you do or don't do that seems to energize or revitalize you? I'd love to hear about it.

Definitely taking a day away from the computer helps. Spending a day reading something that isn't "work" or watching a movie are all things that help re-fill that creative well for me.

Today my brain feels like it's in a fog and my "to do" list is a mile long, so I think I may need to take a little down time this afternoon myself.

Sorry you are feeling in a fog, Nic. If you come see me you will actually be in fog. LOL Take the time to rest and get back in the groove.
