I wrote SWEET RETURN because I'm always looking for new and different careers, activities, etc. for my characters. I get tired of all of the women being doctors and lawyers and all of the men being Navy SEALS. ...After that, I'm looking for ways the hero/heroine can be in conflict. Then, I'm looking for a high concept if I can find it. Thus I made Joanna a free range egg merchant, smart but with a heart of gold. And I made Dalton a tough ex-marine who's now a war correspondent and a photo-journalist. Both of those careers called for me to do some research.
