Readers often ask authors where they get their ideas from.
They want to know where these stories come from. My stories are a combination
of dreams, real-life experiences, and just plain fiction. I love hearing from
readers about what they think is the “real” part of my stories.
The second question most readers ask is how do you come up
with a name. As a teacher, I have over twenty years of students and names to
draw from. I love using names of people I know in my stories. But I must point
out…my characters are my imagination. They are not the same as a student, just
because I use a name.
In my Pigg Brothers Series, I used the name Pigg for the
heroes. They are three brothers who are private eyes and police detectives. The
first book was a play on the story, The Three Little Pigs. The heroine
in “Protecting His Wolfe” is Betsie Wolfe. As I tell my students all the time,
some of my favorite books are retellings of popular fairy tales. Bigfoot
Cinderella and Dinorella are retellings of Cinderella with unique
characters.
