Blogging from Alaska

My trip to my daughter's in Kodiak was as uneventful as it could be having a six hour lay over in Anchorage in the middle of the night! I saw some interesting characters, listened to snoring, and managed to write fifteen pages on my current WIP.

I wish I had walked around when I first got there rather than three hours after I'd sat in the uncomfortable chairs at the gates working on my laptop. When I got up to stretch and walk around I discovered a secluded spot where I could watch people and sit in a recliner! It was one of those that massages you, which I stuck a dollar in and had a three minute massage. Then I pulled out my laptop and did some more work.

After missing one night's sleep, last night the boys were restless and fussed a lot and my daughter, who was scheduled to go into the hospitat early this morning, was wandering around a lot. She said she was having contractions and was a little worried about the outcome this morning.

So today, I am taking care of the three and eighteen month old while she has the baby either by inducement or c-section today.

So, that's my news.

Anything exciting happening in your world today?

Wow! Nothing is happening in my world compared to that! Congrats! It is so wonderful you are able to be there during this time. Enjoy the family and Alaska! (Had to chuckle when I read about the recliner...isn't that how it goes?)

Cheers,
Lauri

Yeah, if I'd found that thing earlier, I might even have slept a little! LOL

Nope, nothing that compares to that. I spent my day trying to do edits with two sick kids in the house intent on killing each other. Or making me go completely insane, whichever came first.

Wow, sorry about your ridiculously long layover; that sucks! I would have been so scared sitting there all alone for so many hours. Too bad about the comfy chair too. Sheesh!

The most exciting thing I did was play video games with my four-year-old. He was in heaven, of course. :) Probably because I suck at video games and he can kick my butt.

Glad you finally got to your dd's and were safe.
