Fun Weekend!

I attended the Rose City RWA Reader's Luncheon on Saturday with a good friend. We spent the night in Portland and rode the Trimet from the motel to the Hotel where the event was being held. It was only the second time I'd ridden on the Trimet. Niether my friend nor I knew which line to take, so we asked a woman and her son who looked like they knew what they were doing at the stop. Come to find out they were there from Vermont for the Olympic Fencing finals. The young man was ranked 14th in the National for his age group. But they had been in Portland long enough to have figured out the trains and told us which line we needed to board.

At the Luncheon I saw friends and acquaintances as well as met some wonderful new friends. A woman I met ten years ago when I attended my first RWA conference was in attendance at the luncheon. She was so wonderful all those years ago when I was scared and unsure what to do in the mix of writers and editors. I will always be grateful to her. And she was just as wonderful at the luncheon, bringing the group she came to the luncheon with over to have a group shot taken with me. I felt like a Top Ten Bestselling author!

It was a fun day and I will definitely be back next year!

What did you do over the weekend? Was it fun or work?
